In 1975, the Museum purchased the former Masonic lodge at 201 S. College and moved all displays and artifacts there. At that time the goal was for the museum to utilize the entire building. Over the next 45 years, that goal was always a dream of the board and members. Finally that goal has been achieved. With your support, it has been possible to install an elevator and renovate both the second and third floors of this historic building that anchors downtown Waxahachie.
We’re not stopping there! With updates to exhibits, new history on display, engaging kids activities, and a rotating exhibit area, there’s always something new to explore at the Ellis County Museum. We now also offer curated and interactive school programs to help engage kids (and adults!) with their local history.
If you would like to help support our museum efforts with special funding or want to discuss a potential partnership, please contact the Ellis County Museum at admin@elliscountymuseum.org or call (972) 937-0681.
Thank you to our entire community of advocates across Ellis County for supporting the mission of the Ellis County Museum- we’re making history together.
