Ellis County Master Gardeners are hosting their 22nd Annual Lawn & Garden Expo.
It’s Saturday, March 25th from 9:00 to 4:00 at the Waxahachie Civic Center.
In early March, free tickets can be picked up from Expo sponsors. If you miss out, tickets are only $5 at the door. There’s no charge for children 12 and younger. In early March check their website https://ecmga.com/ or their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ECMGA/ for a listing of sponsors and locations.
You won’t want to miss this year’s keynote speakers! John Thomas from Wildseed Farms out of Fredericksburg and Andrea DeLong-Amaya from LBJ Wildflower Center out of Austin join us. Topics include wildflowers and Texas native plants. Also joining the speakers list are two Ellis County Master Gardeners. Rob Franks on the benefits of pocket prairies and Sara Gouge on the intriguing world of pollination.
There’s plenty for the children too! Texas Discovery Gardens’ own Scout Woodward joins us for the first time as does Amethyst Stone, moderator of What kind of snake is this? North Texas FB page. Children get to dig in the dirt, learn about red wigglers and composting, pollination, bees, life cycle of butterflies, our state flower, planting seed bombs and much more. Join the fun as they get Wild about Gardening!
