The historical and architectural significance of the McKinney-Aday Farmhouse has been acknowledged by its being awarded a Historic Waxahachie, Inc. marker in 2012 and designated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark by the Texas State Historical Commission in 2013. The farmhouse is fully appointed with early to middle 20th century furnishings to reflect the home life of early Ellis County farm families.
The Ellis County Rural Heritage Farm is listed on the map of the 2023 Waxahachie Gingerbread Trail as a stop "You may also be interested in". The tour of the McKinney-Aday Farmhouse is FREE and open to the public.
